Brooke Gomez - WHS Senior and Student Athlete
Brooke Gomez is an outstanding high school athlete and scholar. Known for her success on the basketball court, Brooke has tried something new this season … track! And she loves it.
Brooke is known for buzzer beaters and coming through for her team when the pressure is on. For example, on senior night of the Wolves were down by one point playing in front of a record crowd with little time left on the clock. Brooke was fouled and went to the free throw line, sinking both shots to win the game against GW. She fashions herself after her longtime favorite legend, LeBron James, watching highlights of him before every game she plays. Plus, someday she wants a $27 million Nike contract just like Caitlin Clark.
According to Jesse Hernandez, Athletic Director, “Brooke is an outstanding student athlete. She is an all star basketball player who picked up track and field for the first time this year. She is doing an amazing job.”
“Brooke embodies excellence not just in her skills but also in her character, elevating her team with her talent and fostering a culture of support and respect,” teacher Steve Fendry writes. “Brooke's commitment to growth, empathy, and collaboration makes Brooke not only a great teammate but also a shining example of what it means to be a better human.”
Favorite Food: Hot wings bone-in only! Mild or hot, it doesn’t matter.
Favorite thing to do: Play basketball or go camping, dirt biking, and tubing with my family. We love going to Carter Lake!
Favorite Animal: Turtle
Best school memory: Senior game - It was good seeing all the fans fill the stands and support the team.
Plans after Graduation: I am going to Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas on a basketball scholarship. As for my major, business and ultrasound tech sound interesting but I’m still flexible.

If I could have a superpower, it would be: I would be able to fly and go wherever I want to go
What has Westminster Public Schools meant to you? It has been a family. I have grown close to my friends and the adults all who mean a lot to me.
The teacher or coach who has inspired me the most: Steve Fendry has been the biggest influence on my basketball. He encourages me when I am down. He also encourages me to succeed.
