RANUM OPEN HOUSE A HANDS-ON SUCCESS!
Folks from the public got to tour the Iver C Ranum An Innovation Campus on Tuesday, October 30th, and get hands-on demonstrations of the world-class equipment and curriculum that WPS students get to use every day. The public could take tours, visit classrooms, and participate in hands-on activities.
“I loved it. It was awesome!” proclaimed Colorado Stem Academy level 4 student Livia Weber. “I got to drive an excavator, play with a robotic dog, wear a VR headset, and fly a plane!”
“It was a really cool idea to have demonstrations so that we could see advanced stuff,” raved Brecken Weber, Level 7 student also at CSA.
Former Ranum graduates as well as Westminster citizens were also in attendance to see what all the buzz has been about. Attendees also got to drop by Robbie Ferguson’s class to see students soldering. They visited Scott Troy’s class to see students making chemical mixtures to suspend sections of DNA.
Audrey Yanos, WPS Board Member, said, “It was great to see focus on the students and not just the building.”
The open house reinforced the plans for future CTE programming and campus development. Those plans can be found at destinationwps.org
