On December 10, the Westminster Public Schools Board of Education approved a name for the newest PK-8 School in WPS: Uplands Discovery Campus. The campus will unite Shaw Heights Middle School and John E. Flynn A Marzano Academy under one roof to focus on arts, STEM and CTE programming.

Construction will be ongoing until the official opening in the fall of 2028, but in the meantime, current Shaw and Flynn students, as well as incoming 6th graders from nearby Mesa Elementary and Harris Park Elementary, will be taking their classes in the Shaw Heights building. Our enrollment window for the coming 2026/27 school year opens on December 15 and all students zoned for attendance at the new Uplands Discovery Campus will need to complete the registration process as they do each year.

The new name and logo will honor the past with a proud Falcon, while paving the way for a bright future.
