A NOTE FROM SUPERINTENDENT GOTTO | AUGUST 21
Dear Westminster Public School Community,

I hope you're doing well and are excited about the new school year ahead. As we begin another academic year, I want to extend a warm welcome back to each of you. Our schools are buzzing with anticipation, and our dedicated staff have been hard at work preparing for a year full of learning, growth, and success.

As many of you know, this is my first message as superintendent, having taken over the reins from Dr. Pamela Swanson, who retired over the summer. She has been an amazing mentor and has done a wonderful job easing me into this position.

I am honored by the trust Dr. Swanson and the Board of Education placed in me to help educate our community.

To help you get a better feel for who I am, where I come from, and what I believe we created a short video which you can see below that tells you a little bit about myself.

To Our Families:

Meeting with our students last week on the first day of school was such a pleasure. Their excitement and that sense of optimism about what public education is all about is joyous. I also experienced it as a parent, as I dropped off my son at Hodgkin’s Leadership Academy.

Attendance is a key factor in your child's academic success. Every day in school is an opportunity to learn, grow, and develop the skills necessary for a bright future. Regular attendance not only helps students keep up with their studies but also fosters a sense of community and belonging.

We understand that there may be occasional circumstances that prevent a student from attending school, but we ask for your support in making school attendance a priority. If you are facing any challenges that may affect your child’s ability to attend school regularly, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your school’s staff. We are here to support you.

To Our Staff:

Welcome back! Your dedication and passion for education make all the difference in our students’ lives. As we embark on this new school year, I want to express my gratitude for your hard work and commitment to excellence. Together, we will create a positive, nurturing environment where every student feels valued and motivated to succeed.

Whether you are returning or new to our district, we are thrilled to have you as part of our community. Together, we will create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for our students to thrive. Your partnership is invaluable, and we look forward to working together to ensure every student reaches their full potential.

To Our Community:

Throughout the summer we have worked with a company called Public Alignment to gather community thoughts and ideas about our school district’s direction. You may have received an email or a text asking you to participate in a questionnaire. Right now, the Board of Education is considering the possibility of placing a measure on the November ballot to fund some of our initiatives and priorities and we want to hear from you.

Warm regards,
