Innovation Schools

Innovation and flexibility.

Innovation Schools are a State Board approved alternative to Charter Schools that allow for greater flexibility and autonomy at the school level. Innovations Schools design and implement innovative ideas and practices to meet their students’ needs and try new educational approaches. In Westminster Public Schools, Innovations Schools are tuition-free, but any interested student must submit an application and not all students are guaranteed entrance. Applications for each school can be found on their websites.

Prefer a neighborhood school?

WPS has 13 neighborhood schools serving students from PK-12th grade, as well as a tuition-based Early Learning Center for children as young as 3 months old. Families who live within WPS boundaries are guaranteed a spot at their neighborhood school. Interested students, no matter where they live, may apply to attend any of our schools by submitting an out-of-district application. Not all students are guaranteed entrance and transportation options vary.
