Transportation

Westminster School Bus parked with kids walking next to it

Westminster Public Schools provides free bus transportation for eligible students. Elementary and PK–8 students qualify if they live more than one mile from their assigned neighborhood school, while middle and high school students qualify if they live more than one and a half miles away. We are committed to ensuring safe and reliable access to school for all eligible students.

Eligibility & Registration

To be considered for Transportation Services, families must complete a 2025-2026 Bus Rider Registration Form each school year. Westminster Public Schools strives to accommodate as many eligible riders as possible; however, transportation availability may vary based on student needs and staffing levels.

Registration for transportation services typically opens in July, with route assignments beginning in August. Please note that completing the registration form does not guarantee an assigned route. Instead, registration helps the Transportation Department develop accurate bus routes and maintain an up-to-date list of eligible riders for each bus.

RTD Zero Fare for Youth

RTD offers free rides to youth through its Zero Fare for Youth program. Students under 19 years of age may ride RTD services at no cost with a valid student ID. This program can be a helpful transportation option for families, particularly when district bus capacity is limited.
