Culinary Services

westminster Public Schools culinary Services
Culinary Services continuously works to ensure the safety and nutrition of the foods served in an environment that encourages healthy food choices at an affordable price and in support of the academic sector because a hungry child cannot learn.
Our services are unique because we are self-supporting and receive no funds out of the district’s general fund. Operating expenses such as payroll, food, and nonfood supplies, equipment and repair costs, depreciation, etc. comes from federal and state reimbursements for meals served and from revenue generated through food sales.
Our team consists of 70 dedicated professionals on our daily staff, with an additional 14 on-call staff and staff-in-training. Each team member is certified in safety and sanitation to ensure the quality of our food and sanitation practices in each on-site kitchen facility. The staff is involved in continuous training and education opportunities through department training as well as state and national training opportunities.

Mission

We are honored to bring fresh ideas and innovative concepts to school dining. Our mission is to provide excellence as we serve nutritious, well-balanced meals that appeal to students, parents and administration of Westminster Public Schools (WPS).

Vision

Create healthy meals for every child, every day. A greater selection of choices in nutrition, education and activity. Offering a free breakfast to all students, providing free lunch to all K-5 students and a wide selection of menu options to all secondary schools.
