The Gifted Education Department offers a variety of extended learning opportunities for all WPS learners.
- Anytime, Anywhere Learning: All Westminster Public Schools students are offered the unique opportunity to meet academic WPS Proficiency Scale targets inside AND outside the classroom, like at home or in the community. This is referred to as Anytime, Anywhere learning, which is intended to help students connect school to real-life experiences. Participation starts with completing the Anytime, Anywhere Learning application.
- The Score of 4.0: All district students can earn competency beyond minimum expectations (Score of 3.0) by completing tasks that engage deeper learning. If your child is interested, contact their teacher or PEDAL Advocate today.
- Gifted Education Enrichment Field Trips allow PEDAL students to go on highly engaging and relevant field trips once a year.
- The Gifted Education Student Forum allows K-12 students to discuss topics relevant to gifted learners. This event occurs virtually from 4:30-5:00 P.M.
- The Gifted Education Family Forum is for the parents of high-ability students and is intended to offer resources and strategies to families. This event occurs virtually from 5:30- 6:00 P.M.
- The Gifted Education Career Information Session is designed to help students learn about various careers in brief, after-school 30-minute virtual meetings.
- The Gifted Education after-school enrichment is offered to buildings once per semester to provide coding, science, writing, and art opportunities for any WPS learners.
- Celebrating Excellence! is a district-wide virtual talent and excellence competition for all WPS Learners.
